California secedes

With tensions high due the imminent secession vote, California patiently awaited to vote on whether or not they would declare independence.

During the first poll, 9 voted in agreement with the secession, while 9 voted against and two abstained from the voting. The total amount of votes stood at 20 votes with nothing passed.

In a second poll, 16 voted in favor of secession and 12 voted against. With one side looking more favorable than the other, the governor of California decided to side with the secession of his state. With support from the governor more counties favored seceding.

Senator Dianne Feinstein said,“The help of the governor is great, it can take us a long way.”.

Even those counties who were against the secession of California remain positive on any outcome that will result from the decision.

“Working with the governor is off putting but I am willing to do whatever will work best for the state,” said Mayor Darrell Steinberg,

With promises of fair voting by Senator Kevin De Leon, California held a third vote to determine the fate of California. After intense anticipation the results of the poll where that California seceded.

Now that California is officially independent of the Union we can look forward to see what comes next from the new independent state. A Declaration of Independence is currently in works for the Republic of California as rumors of new members of government spread.
