JANUARY 28, 1928 - The exposure of magic kind has finally come. With the escape of Gellert Grindelwald, who played a role in the near exposure of magic previously, the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) are grabbing each other by the throats over who helped him out.
Just recently, magical beasts had been set free and nearly exposed the existence of magic kind. The Magical Exposure Threat Level has been raised to a “Level 6: Emergency” causing an uproar and violating the International Statute of Secrecy.
The goal of MACUSA has been to ensure the continuation of wizardry while ensuring the safety of wizards, even if it means that the No-Maj (Non-magical) world has to find out.
The Head of the Department of Intoxicating Substances has conducted a private investigation on the events leading up to the escape of Grindelwald. His results concluded that Chief of the Obliviator Headquarters (COH) and Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement (HDMLE) were involved in Grindelwald’s escape. MACUSA has performed a trial in which both men have pleaded that rogue agents had set Grindelwald free, not them.
In an attempt to continue with procedure as normal, Congress has passed some everyday legislature. They have set up a tax break to middle class wizards, as well as a long wanted Quidditch Watch between the US and Russian international teams, which has boosted public opinion and moral.
For now, however, the Magical Congress must focus on the main issue at hand; the exposure of magic.The delegates have begun to form directives to deal with this problem, while trying to maintain the safety of all wizards. Currently, wizards have been ordered to cease all use of magic and stay as far away from No-Majs as possible.
Additionally, they have still not addressed the trail of the COH and HDMLE, leading to unease and distrust between the delegates. Hopefully it can be resolved soon, because the fate of both worlds, wizards and No-Maj, lies in the hands of the Magical Congress delegates.
