Scott Summers’ vizor captured giving hope to Joint Mission Phoenix

The Joint Mission Phoenix counsel has convened on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 to discuss the immense threat that looms over the fate of humanity: the Phoenix Force. The Phoenix Force is an indestructible entity and manifestation that possesses its host, taking away the host’s ability to control their powers. Its current hosts are Scott Summers (Cyclops), Emma Frost (White Queen), Namor McKenzie (Imperius Rex), Illyana Rasputina (Magik) and Piotr “Peter” Rasputin (Colossus). A counsel of qualified heros and mutants have assembled once again to find a way to overcome the threat that the Phoenix Force imposes on Earth and the different dimensions.

Matthew Murdock, also known as Daredevil, received important “information” this afternoon concerning one of the Phoenix Five members, Scott Summers. Summers’ Vizor has been stolen from him, reducing Summers control over his powers. Summer emits optic blasts from his eyes. Without his vizor Summers cannot control his optic blasts and therefore his accuracy and ability to perform is reduced significantly.

Following this recent influx of information, the Joint Mission Phoenix counsel debated whether to focus on Scott Summers in his weakened state or focus on Emma Frost, a Phoenix Five member who poses an even greater threat to the counsel.

Iron Fist says, “Emma Frost is the biggest threat than Scott Summers, now that Scott Summers is weak we need to focus on Emma Frost.” Emma Frost’s immense power rivals that of Professor Charles Xavier’s with her astral projection and telepathic abilities. However, several other members thought the opposite. Spider Man mentions that, “we are underestimating Scott Summers.” Black Panther and Magma agreed that Scott Summers need to be “neutralized first,” and that, “we need to get him now before he gets any stronger.” The majority of the counsel agreed that Summers should be taken down first before jumping to Emma Frost. When asked about any possible solutions to combat the imminent threat of the Phoenix Five, Spider Man replied that “we need to assemble a group of several spider men from different dimensions so that out fighting power increases.” He further joked about even including “the spiderman pig version.”

While the Joint Mission Phoenix focused on Scott Summers weakened state and how to overcome the Phoenix Force within him, another crisis emerged. Namor McKenzie, who was held captured at Asgard whilst being investigated extensively about the Phoenix Five, was found dead with an Asgardian weapon next to him. No information has been found as of yet concerning the culprit and how he was killed. However, one thing is certain--there will be repercussions.
