Members of the UNDP gathered once again to create economic resilience in Nigeria. The nations were divided into many plans, with the STAR plan and PES plan being the most popular.
“Admittedly, STAR and PES are very similar, but I believe the STAR plan has the edge at the moment.” said the Norwegen representative.
Both the STAR and PES plans focus on building the Nigerian economy through decreasing the unemployment rate, and creating better education. Both would go about completing this in similar ways, so what really separates STAR and PES?
Norway’s representative said that, “STAR gets to the root of the problems in Nigeria, whilst PES is too general.”
In order to differentiate themselves from the PES plan, STAR is looking to merge with the TIP plan. By merging STAR and TIP, economic resilience can be achieved whilst helping the triangular crop production simultaneously. TIP also has a plan to remove Nigerian dependence on oil.
Rumors of the merge seemed to worry supporters of the PES plan as they felt STAR plan now had a significant advantage.
Voting will commence soon and this move from STAR and TIP seems like it has put them in pole position.
